This page explains what information Bytes Fusion collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal text.
What we collect
We collect information you actively submit through our forms — specifically, the contact form and the "Write For Us" pitch form. This typically includes your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field, plus (for pitches) a proposed topic and an optional link to a writing sample.
We also automatically log your IP address and browser user-agent string alongside each form submission. This is used solely to prevent spam and abuse (rate-limiting repeated submissions), and is not used to identify or track you across the web.
What we don't collect
- We do not require an account or login to use this site.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.
Analytics
If enabled, this site may use Google Analytics to understand overall visitor traffic (e.g. which pages are popular, roughly how visitors found the site). Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them via the cookie banner on your first visit — see "Cookies" below. You can decline this without losing access to any part of the site.
How we use your information
Information submitted through our forms is used only to respond to your inquiry or pitch. It's stored in our database and, for most submissions, also forwarded to us by email. We don't use it for any other purpose, and we don't add you to a mailing list unless you separately ask us to.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion (see "Your rights" below), since we may refer back to past inquiries. If you'd like your data removed, just ask.
Cookies
This site uses a minimal, functional cookie (or local storage entry) to remember that you've seen and responded to the cookie consent banner, so it doesn't reappear on every visit. If analytics is enabled and you accept it, Google Analytics may also set its own cookies to distinguish visitor sessions. No cookies are set for advertising purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Contact us at bytesfusionit@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect information submitted to us, including server-side validation, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls on our database. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
